How long is the flight from Darwin and on what aircraft?

The flight time from Darwin to Groote Eylandt is 90 minutes on an Embraer 120 Brasilia aircraft (read about it here: www.airnorth.com.au/flying-with-us/on-board/our-fleet)

How long does it take to get from the airport to the lodge?

It’s 20 minutes’ drive from the airport to the lodge in our comfortable air-conditioned vehicle.

Where do we board the boat?

Our professional fishing vessels are docked in Milner Bay Harbour, a five-minute drive from the lodge.

How long do you fish for each day?

Each day’s fishing is subject to the tides, but we can generally get out fishing at about 7am, and we head back to shore at about 4pm. Shorter trips can be arranged, of course.

How long is the cruise to the fishing grounds?

On most days, we’ll have you fishing for all bluewater, reef and pelagic species within 40 minutes and barramundi in 90 minutes.

Will we target certain fish on certain days?

That is entirely up to you. Our experiences are all tailored around what our guests want, so if you just want to target billfish, or barramundi, or a mixture of the many species at Groote Eyelandt, we can make it happen.
